All Green Smoothie

For those of you who were left wanting for more after my previous smoothie post I thought I would add just one more of my favorites. That is the Green Smoothie. It sounds healthy. It is healthy. But there’s more to green smoothies than the straightforward benefit of increasing your overall fruit and vegetable intake. Green smoothies are packed with fiber, which lowers cholesterol and glucose levels, keeps you feeling fuller for longer and regulates your body’s cleansing processes. Plus, it’s a tasty way to get a strong dose of fruits and veggies, which provide vital nutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, folate and potassium.

Ingredients: Serves 1
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 3/4 cups of green grapes
  • 1/4 pear, seeded and halved
  • 1/2 avocado, pitted and peeled
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped broccoli
  • 1/2 cup of spinach or your favorite leafy green, washed 
  • 1/4 ice cubes 
Feel free once again to add flax seeds and/or protein powder for an added boost.

  1. Place all ingredients into the blender. 
  2. Blend for 35-40 seconds or until mixture is smooth.
